• 2-day NIT summit to discuss Industry-academia collaboration for innovation

  • Governor Dr C V Ananda Bose, will be the chief guest at the two-day Academia–Industry and Alumni Interaction Summit to be held at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Durgapur, from tomorrow.

    Union minister of state for education, Dr Sukanta Majumdar, will also attend as a distinguished guest, along with Professor Sukumar Mishra, Director of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad; Dr N C Murmu, Director of the Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), Durgapur; Surjeet Mishra, director-in-charge of ISP and DSP of SAIL; Dr Mou Sen, joint director of MSME, West Bengal Government; Professor Goutam Sutradhar, Director of NIT Jamshedpur; and Ratan Kumar Kesh, COO of Bandhan Bank, among others.

    Professor Arvind Pandey, Director of NIT Durgapur, said the event is being organised by the Institution’s Innovation Council of NIT Durgapur. The two-day programme will feature interactive sessions with experts, addresses by distinguished guests and panellists, visionary talks, an MoU signing ceremony, alumni entrepreneur felicitations, and MSME sessions, among others.

    “Our objectives are to enhance industry-academia collaboration for innovation and sustainability; deliver advanced research and technological solutions for industrial challenges; develop industry-aligned programmes; promote IPR creation; and support entrepreneurship through mentorship, incubation and funding,” added Professor Arvind Pandey.
