Special DG inspects SSB operations along India-Nepal border

Special director general (SDG) Anupama Nilekar Chandra conducted an official visit to the Bhatgaon Company headquarters and Border Outpost (BOP) to review security preparedness along the India–Nepal border on Wednesday.
The SDG began her visit with an inspection of the operational duties performed by both male and female personnel at Bhatgaon. She later undertook a field review of the Indo-Nepal border, including the no-man’s land and Border Pillar No. 101, to assess the security arrangements on both sides of the frontier.
Company Commander assistant commandant Ketan Kailash Salunke presented a detailed briefing on the area of responsibility through a GIS-based map. The SDG also reviewed recent operational achievements of the 41st Battalion, as presented by its commandant, and commended the personnel for their performance.
During the visit, Ms Chandra inspected the barracks, administrative facilities, and other amenities at the outpost and interacted with officers and personnel over lunch.
Later in the day, she visited the Pathamari Border Outpost under the 19th Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Inspector General Vandan Saxena of the Frontier Headquarters, Siliguri, accompanied her during the inspection.
The special director general was received by Manjit Singh Padda, deputy inspector general, Sector Headquarters, Ranidanga, and Yogesh Singh, commandant, 41st Battalion, SSB, Ranidanga.
