• Metro increases services, extends operational hours in Yellow Line

  • The Kolkata Metro Railway has decided to increase the number of services on Saturdays and Sundays and extend the daily operational hours of Yellow Line from 3 November.

    According to the city Metro office, from Monday, a total of 120 services would be operated on weekdays, with extended service hours from 7.18 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. instead of 7.55 a.m. to 8.17 p.m. On Saturdays, 92 services would be operated instead of 44 services, with extended service hours from 7.18 p.m. to 9.30 p.m instead of 7.35 am to 8.32 pm. Likewise On Sundays, the Metro authorities would run 78 services instead of 40 services, with service hours extended from 9.18 a.m to 9.30 p.m. instead of 8.35 a.m. to 8.22 p.m.

    Apart from extending the operational hours and increasing the number of services, the city metro has also decided to reduce the interval between two trains. As learnt from the office of the Kolkata Metro Railway, on Saturdays and Sundays, services on this Line would be available at an 18 minutes interval instead of 35 minutes.
