  • Kolkata: The Bengal govt's flagship initiative, Amader Para Amader Samadhan (APAS), concluded on Monday with around 1.7 lakh citizens visiting 305 camps. The initiative, launched on Aug 2, logged a total footfall of 2.4 crore at 31,757 camps.

The camps were held at the booth level to ensure the citizen-centric approach could help solve problems at the grassroots. CM

earmarked Rs 10 lakh for each booth, and thus, for the 80,000-plus booths in Bengal, the state allocated Rs 8,000 crore.

From bus stands and parking problems to the use of public latrines and public address systems in the neighbourhood, along with the use of CCTVs for enhanced security, a number of issues came up during the APAS camps, an official said. However, the most common problems were potholes, waterlogging, and water scarcity, along with inadequate lighting and a lack of benches in parks. tnn
