SPML Infra aims to surpass Rs 1k cr revenue by end of fiscal

Kolkata: City-based SPML Infra hopes to cross the Rs 1,000-crore mark in revenue by the end of this fiscal. Last fiscal, the company posted a revenue of Rs 780 crore. SPML, which is now entering manufacturing through an energy storage plant in Pune, also plans to set up more such plants.
SPML MD Abhinandan Sethi told TOI that this year the company was certain to surpass four-digit revenue. SPML has set up the plant with an investment of Rs 175 crore, and after Maharashtra, the company may set up more plants in MP and Rajasthan, he added.
The plant will be built on 25 acres and would have a capacity of 2.5 GW, which could be scaled up to 5 GW and then 10 GW over a period of time. SPML has tied up with US company Energy Vault for storage battery.
Sethi added that the company had set a target of a 50-50 revenue mix from water-related projects and power and storage battery projects and manufacturing by 2029. The company now has three main EPC verticals: water, power and battery storage and water constitutes 80% of its revenue. The power segment includes electrification and substations. The order book of the company now stands at Rs 4,500 crore.
