Kolkata: The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) on Monday released a list of 3,512 ‘tainted' non-teaching staff members who will not be able to participate in the fresh recruitment for staff in state-aided schools across Bengal for classes IX-X and XI-XII.
On the list, 1,163 are tainted Group-C, while the number of Group-D staffers was 2,349, who were recruited from the 2016 panel.
Those with names on the list will not be able to appear for the written test for fresh recruitment.
Immediately after releasing the list of ‘tainted' candidates, the portal went live to invite fresh applications for the written test. A total of 8,477 vacant posts are available for recruitment, with 2,989 for Group-C and 5,488 vacancies for Group-D positions.
The application portal will remain live till Dec 3. Sources said over 60 applications were submitted immediately after the portal went live.
Around 26,000 teachers and staffers lost their jobs following the SC order, of which around 7,000 were staffers.
