Cabinet clears parcels of land, new panel for celebrating Vande Mataram

The state Cabinet today put a seal on a proposal to hand over a parcel of land, around 149.64 acres, to two industrialists for setting up of industries at Sugnibasa and Ghagrasol in Jhargram district.
Chandrima Bhattacharchya, the minister of state for finance, told news persons that the proposal to hand over the proposed lands to two big-ticket companies, Captain Industries India and Ultratech Cements, was taken by the Cabinet today under the leadership of chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
“The proposed lands will be given on a free-hold basis after following all guidelines. The key purpose of the proposal is to generate more employment in the state,” Mrs Bhattacharya said.
She also informed that the cabinet put a seal on setting up of a committee of eminent personalities under the chairmanship of Leena Ganguly to mark the 150 years of the composition of national song Vande Mataram by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1876.
Apart from Leena Ganguly, the committee included Alapan Bandopadhyay as the vice-chairman, Parambrata Chatterjee, Debashish Bhattacharya, Satyam Roy Chowdhury, Abul Bashar, Srijato, Goutam Ghosh, Dipak Adhikari alias Dev, Prasenjit Chatterjee, Partha Bhowmick among others.
Meanwhile, Miss Banerjee today asked all the cabinet ministers to stay in their respective constituencies, until the process of SIR that would commence from tomorrow, gets over.
In a strong directive to the ministers concerned, the chief minister, as sources claimed, told them to put a strong vigil on the BLOs when the SIR would be conducted from tomorrow.
