In a remarkable display of adventure, discipline and national pride, sixty spirited Naval NCC Cadets from the West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate set sail on an inspiring expedition from Farakka to Kolkata on Wednesday. Covering more than 400 km plus expedition along the Ganges river, this 20-day sailing journey stands as a tribute to 150 years of Vande Mataram, celebrating the spirit of unity and patriotism that binds the nation.
Flagged off with great enthusiasm, the expedition exemplifies the core values of the National Cadet Corps, teamwork, endurance and leadership. As the cadets navigate through the waters of the Ganges, they will not only test their physical and mental resilience but also engage with communities along the riverbanks.
Throughout the voyage, cadets will participate in social service and community development activities across multiple locations. These include awareness drives, cleanliness campaigns, tree plantation, and interactions with local youth, fostering a deep sense of civic responsibility and national integration.
This expedition, blending tradition with valour, aims to strengthen the spirit of camaraderie among cadets while reinforcing the NCC’s enduring commitment to nation building.
