• SIR acting as carbolic acid on infiltrators: Subhendu

  • Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly, Subhendu Adhikari, today threatened to take on the Trinamul Congress after the 2026 polls.

Adhikari today joined Parivartan Sankalpa Yatra programme of his party that kicked off from the Curzon Gate crossing here this afternoon. He decried the attacks on the Block Level Assistants assigned by his party in different places across the state. He held the Trinamul Congress responsible for this and said: “We will give them far more ‘better treatment’ after our party assumes office in 2026. We are keeping record of everything and the treatments will be prescribed accordingly for each patient.”

The BJP leader claimed that the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls has forced the Trinamul Congress to talk about the majority section of the society. He said: “They have realised that only appeasement of a minority community won’t work anymore as the SIR will scrap the names of the Bangla infiltrators who were casting votes in TMC’s favour for so long.”

He added: “The way venomous snakes are forced to come out of their hiding spots after carbolic acid is sprayed, the infiltrators have similarly started coming out from their hideouts after the SIR exercise began.”
