Kolkata: A theft case was registered at Jorabagan Police Station following a complaint by Pompa Biswas (64) of Mondal Street, who claimed a gold neck chain was stolen from an idol during Rash Purnima Puja at her residence between 10 pm on Nov 6 and 1 pm on Nov 7.
The police have initiated an investigation, with sub-inspector P Bhattacharjee appointed as the investigating officer.
Residents of the area have expressed concern over the security during religious festivities, urging cops to enhance vigilance.
