  • A Synergy and Business Conclave was held at Rabindranath Bhavan in Chinsurah with entrepreneurs associated with small and medium industries from Hooghly, Kolkata and South 24-Parganas.

The conclave aims to boost entrepreneurship by providing a platform for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) entrepreneurs to engage in one-to-one interactions with government departments and financial institutions, address their concerns, and receive tailored solutions. The initiative focuses on fostering economic growth through measures such as promoting investment opportunities, encouraging exports, and simplifying the business environment.

Among those present were ministers Chandranath Singh, Bankim Chandra Hazra and Becharam Manna, along with district president Ranjan Dhara, District Magistrate Khurshid Ali Quader, and other dignitaries.

Speakers highlighted that such conclaves are essential for setting a direction towards the establishment of new industries and generating employment.

Minister Manna said that industrial development in Hooghly district has been “very satisfactory and encouraging”. A large number of small and medium industries have come up along both sides of the Delhi Highway, Durgapur Express Road, Allahabad Road, Tarakeswar Road, Dhaniakhali Road and other stretches. “We are here to identify, resolve and expedite the initial processes involved in setting up industries — including issues related to land and land reforms, RR&P, labour, environment, power, fire services, and ES departments,” he said.

Mr Manna further informed that in the initial phase, 27 bighas of land have already been allotted in Singur for industrial purposes.
