Kolkata: A violent altercation inside a New Market pub, where a female employee accused her colleagues of physical and mental abuse along with molestation, led to a police complaint being filed.
The incident reportedly began when a 25-year-old resident of Kasba, was verbally assaulted by another woman in the pub's changing room over who received higher tips on Wednesday. The confrontation turned physical when the aggressor joined with a few patrons, threw a sandal, and charged at the victim. Despite the presence of a security bouncer, the situation was not diffused, and the victim left the scene in distress.
On Friday, the conflict reignited in the same location. The victim, alone at the time, was reportedly attacked by the same woman and her four friends. The assailants allegedly grabbed the victim's hair and attempted to force her to the ground, inflicting injuries on her waist.
The police are investigating the matter. No arrests have been made as yet.
