  • Ultadanga flyover to be shut till Sunday for repair work, leading to traffic diversions that could create significant traffic disruptions on Saturday. The flyover that connects to the Kolkata airport will be closed for maintenance work until November 17 between 00:00 hrs to 05:00 hrs daily.

The temporary shutdown, for patch repairing, mastic asphalt, road marking, and traffic appurtenance, is expected to strain city traffic, which is already affected by restrictions due to the ongoing India-South Africa Test Match at the Eden Gardens.

People are advised to budget extra time for their journeys and plan ahead, considering the daily night-time shutdown on the crucial airport corridor. People heading to the airport are advised to consider alternative routes: EM Bypass – Hudco crossing – Durgapur Bridge – VIP Road.

New EMU train will be inaugurated at the Amghata Railway Station, in Nadia district. The first train will depart from Amghata to Krishnanagar at 11:30 am.

Sunny climate in Kolkata with moderate foggy morning is expected on Saturday. The minimum temperature in most districts are likely to remain below normal by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, the IMD said, adding shallow to moderate fog is likely in the morning hours at a few places.

In Kolkata, the weather is likely to be sunny and dry with temperature ranging from a low of around 18 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 28 degrees Celsius, the weather office said. On Friday, Kolkata recorded a minimum temperature of 17.1 degrees Celsius. According to the weather office, there is no chance of rain for most areas. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 28 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 18 degrees Celsius.
