Cops reject app-shuttle minibuses’ plea to use Maa

Kolkata: Despite requests from various app-cab firms and transporters operating 16- to 24-seater buses in the city, Kolkata Traffic Police on Monday clarified they will not allow minibuses — usually the app-based shuttles ferrying IT employees to the IT sector and back towards Howrah and Behala-Joka — on Maa during office hours.
Similarly, during non-peak hours, if there is a traffic issue leading to vehicles slowing down on the flyover, these app-based minibuses will not be allowed on the flyover. Instead, they can take the Park Circus Connector and the AJC Bose Flyover.
Cops had received requests from the aggregators on taking Maa, since otherwise it takes an extra 30-45 minutes of travel. "We showed them the state notification on buses and reverted saying this cannot be allowed," said an officer. tnn
