Kolkata: For the electors whose names do not appear in the online SIR roll of 2002 but are mentioned in the hard copy of the same list collected from the DM office, the EC will take measures for the inclusion of their names in the draft SIR roll based on that hard copy, a commission official said on Tuesday.
"The EC will look into this issue. Some provisions may be included in the BLO app or ERO login page so that the hard copy could be considered," the official added.
Several electors in Rajarhat-Gopalpur, Basirhat South, and Barasat constituencies had complained to the office of the chief electoral officer, Bengal, that their names were missing in the online SIR roll of 2002 but appeared in the hard copy of that roll.
Taking note of this complaint, CEO Manoj Agarwal raised the issue in a review meeting chaired by senior deputy election commissioner Gyanesh Bharti on Tuesday.
