Kolkata: Indian Coast Guard intercepted another Bangladeshi fishing trawler in the Sundarbans on Monday night and detained 24 Bangladeshi nationals on board. With this, the total number of Bangladeshi fishermen arrested for trespassing illegally into Indian maritime boundaries in the last three days rose to 79.
During a routine patrol, ICG personnel spotted a trawler — FB Noor-e-Modina — crossing into Indian waters. The trawler and its crew were brought to Frazerganj Coastal PS, where the 24 crew members — all residents of Cox's Bazaar — were arrested for illegal entry.
