Suri: A scuffle broke out on Thursday in Gangte village near Suri, Birbhum, during a visit by Trinamool Congress MP Satabdi Roy.
The incident occurred at a camp organized by TMC members to discuss the SIR exercise. The altercation allegedly involved supporters from two rival factions within TMC, escalating tensions in the area.
Witnesses said the situation became heated when a section of villagers expressed dissatisfaction with a local village neta. Roy intervened by escorting the leader in her vehicle, a move that reportedly intensified the unrest.
Roy accused BJP and CPM of orchestrating the disturbance. She assured that the incident would not impact the upcoming vote, maintaining confidence in her party's standing.
