Chief Secy to hold meeting with DMs, poll prep likely on agenda
A day after the visiting Election Commission (EC) team held a meeting with all the district magistrates of West Bengal over holding the Assembly elections in the state, Chief Secretary Manoj Panth is scheduled to hold a similar meeting with DMs at Nabanna. “This meeting with the DMs is receiving special attention in administrative circles due to its focus on pre-election infrastructure and security preparations,” a senior official said.
According to sources, the chief secretary will thoroughly review the progress in every area, including EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) readiness, technological support, logistics arrangements, and the security blueprint. It is understood that a roadmap will be finalised for the entire process, from EVM testing, storage, and transportation before the polls to the deployment of security forces.
