West Bengal weather: IMD predicts fall in minimum temperatures; dry weather to continue

KOLKATA: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday forecast that minimum temperatures will fall by around two degrees Celsius across West Bengal over the next two days.
After this brief cold spell, temperatures are expected to rise gradually by about two degrees Celsius over the state during the following three days.
The IMD also predicted mainly dry weather across West Bengal for the coming week.
Darjeeling was the coldest place in the state on Monday, with a minimum temperature of 5.8°C, while nearby Kalimpong recorded 13°C.
In the plains, Sriniketan in Birbhum district recorded the lowest temperature at 14.2°C. Other areas with low minimums included Jalpaiguri (14.5°C), Kalyani (14.7°C) and Bardhaman (15°C).
Kolkata recorded a minimum of 18°C, with mist expected over the city on Tuesday morning.
