  • Midnapore: Forty-year-old Bablu Hembram, a resident of West Midnapore's Pingla, died on Sunday morning following a cardiac arrest. His family alleged he had been under severe stress after learning that his parents were not in the 2002 SIR list and that he might be called for a hearing.

"I gave him the form on Nov 6, and when I went to collect it, he said that he had filled it up but would submit it later. No one from his family was listed in the 2002 voter list, so I told him to submit the 2025 information," said BLO Shakti Sau.

Pingla MLA Ajit Maity visited the family. "It's extremely tragic for someone to die this way," he said.
