Cabinet sets Jan deadline for handover of houses under Banglar Bari scheme

The state Cabinet, under the stewardship of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today cleared, in principle, a series of proposals ranging from clearance of lands required for setting up a Mahakal temple at Darjeeling. Furthermore, north Bengal would also get a convention Centre at Dabgram.
Besides, the state Cabinet also cleared the building of roads under the Pathashree scheme for both rural and urban areas. Cabinet also took the decision of completing the handover of all pakka houses (over 16 lakh, built under the state Banglar Bari scheme), to the beneficiaries by Mid January.
In rural areas 15,011 km of roads would be constructed wile in urban areas, it would cover 5,019 km.
Apart from this, eight industrial parks would also come up for which a proposal had been cleared by the Cabinet today.
