  • Kolkata: The murder of a CA inside a Kasba hotel by a couple, Dhruba Mitra (20) and Komal Saha, could have been for as little as Rs 2,000. The accused on Tuesday claimed that an additional Rs 2,000 was sought from the victim, Adarsh Losalka, which he refused.

"The trouble began when Adarsh refused to pay the agreed amount after the party in his room. However, we feel that the accused are still hiding the exact motive. Everything they are saying is being cross-verified using the technical leads and studying their bank transactions," said an officer.

Although two rooms were booked, all three stayed in one room. They partied together, and after the party, an argument broke out among them, which escalated into a scuffle. Police believe that Adarsh's legs were tied during the scuffle. They are almost certain that both Dhruva and Kamal were present in the room because it would be practically impossible for a woman alone to tie up a man.

The cops have now got in touch with the administrators of at least three dating apps, one of which was actively used by the trio. "The accused deleted their history in the app, but we need to trace how the accused went about contacting the people," said an officer.
