The railway protection force of Sealdah Division under the Eastern Railway recovered 28.791 kg of a narcotic substance suspected to be ganja valued at approximately Rs 14,39,550.
The recovery took place yesterday when officials of the Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB)/Sealdah, now designated as Directive Wing (DW), along with Sealdah Main Post, apprehended two male individuals from train number 13174 Down Kanchanjunga Express at Sealdah station. During the search, the team recovered 28.791 kg of a narcotic substance valued at more than Rs 14 lakh under ‘Operation Narcos.’ The accused along with the seized narcotics, was handed over to GRPS/Sealdah. The Government Railway Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and initiated further investigation.
