Enumeration form of Hooghly voter uploaded in South 24 Pgns

Prashant and Dipti Roy, residents of Sheoraphuli-Baidyabati in Hooghly, have their names on the voters’ list of 2002 as well as 2025, but the BLO issued the enumeration form only to the husband and not to the wife. On enquiry, the reason came as a great shock to Dipti Roy…
Her enumeration form, with the same EPIC number, had been uploaded at Bhangar in South 24 Parganas. After checking with the BLO, she found that someone had collected her enumeration form containing her EPIC number and submitted it. Upset and in tears, Dipti Roy has pleaded for not being deprived of her constitutional right to vote.
The couple previously resided in No. 6 Ward of Baidyabati Municipality for a long time. At present, they are residents of No. 12 Ward in the same municipality. The husband and wife have their names on the voters’ lists of both 2002 and 2025 and have been casting their votes regularly. But the BLO said Dipti Roy’s form is under a different address head.
This promptly sent husband Prashant on a chase to enquire about his wife’s form. He has visited the concerned departments and offices connected with the enumeration exercise and got to know that her form had been uploaded with the same EPIC number in Bhangar.
Lamenting that she and her husband were suffering mental stress and harassment for no fault of theirs, Dipti said, “No one has the right to deprive me of my right to vote. The concerned authorities must set this right as soon as possible.”
