Kolkata: Jadavpur University Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (JUTMCP) has demanded a ban of Revolutionary Students' Front (RSF) after the latter drew graffiti of Basavraju, the top leader of the CPI (Maoist), who was killed in an encounter in Chhattisgarh.
JUTMCP general secretary Tirtharaj Bardhan said: "They should not be given any permission to hold events in university halls. They are promoting anti-constitutional activities in academic space."
VC Chiranjib Bhattacharjee stated, "The law of the land will decide the action. We can give a warning to the organisation."
RSF general secretary Tathagata Roy Chowdhury said: "Basavraju and Hidma are martyrs of the revolutionary communist movement. We are paying tribute to them because they were fighting for jal, jungle and zameen." tnn
