Parveen Sultana gets lifetime achievement award at ITC Sangeet Sammelan

Noted Indian classical vocalist Begum Parveen Sultana was given a lifetime achievement award at the ITC Sangeet Sammelan this evening.
Sultana received her initial training from Pandit Chinmay Lahiri and stayed in the city. She has taken part in musical conferences across the globe.
The three-day ITC Sangeet Sammelan started today at the premises of ITC Sangeet Research Academy in south Kolkata.
The conference started with the performance of Pandit Pranjal Ghatak in flute and Pandit Ullas Kashalkar in vocals in addition to a performance by Parveen Sultana.
On 6 December, the key attractions of the programme will be vocalists Bidushi Subha Guha. The vocalist will take part in the programme along with Pandit Ajay Chakrabarty.
On 7 December, which is the concluding day, vocalist Meher Paralikar, Kasturi Joshi and Omkar Dadakar will perform. There will be tabla duet by Nayan Ghosh and Ishaan Ghosh.
