Kolkata: Cops from Saharanpur in UP, in collaboration with Kolkata Police, arrested Sanjay Sinha, a fraudster accused of orchestrating a multi-crore scam across several states, from a high-rise in Jadavpur on Saturday night. Sinha faces charges under the Gangster Act, apart from those dealing with fraud and forgery.
Sinha posed as a businessman, leveraging fake tenders from reputable organisations to lure companies into executing projects. He would promise payment upon project completion, only to abscond after making initial payments. He confessed to acquiring the Jadavpur flat and several properties in UP and Delhi with the proceeds of crime. tnn
