• Dava Dost outlets for medical needs of passengers in Sealdah Division

  • Passengers availing a journey from Sealdah station would now be able to travel hassle-free without worrying about packing their medicines. The Sealdah Division authorities have signed a contract for opening of Dava Dost outlets at Sealdah and Dum Dum Junction station to cater to the medical needs of the passengers while travelling.

    According to official sources, the medicine store offers branded generic medicines along with other branded or commonly used medicines at reasonable rates. The store also includes other general products in addition to women care products, articles of baby needs, baby and mother foods. Products related to personal care, hygiene and elderly care or even vitamin supplements are also available at the store and can be availed easily by the passengers. The highlight of the store is that medicines are available round-the-clock as the shop is open 24×7 ensuring continuous service to meet the needs of railway passengers at any time of day and night. Two pharmacists are also available at all times to attend to the visitors.

    As learnt from official sources, the Sealdah Division has awarded a contract to M/s Dava Dost Pharma Pvt Ltd for setting up, operating and maintaining the medicine stores at Sealdah Station and Dum Dum Junction station for three years by Sealdah Division in favour of M/s Dava Dost Pharma Pvt Ltd against an annual licence fee. The divisional railway authorities are mulling over plans of opening such outlets at 21 stations across the divisional jurisdiction. “Of the total, 13 outlets are functional. While the rest are waiting for auction,” informed an official. “Some of the stations where Dava Dost is in pipeline include Ballygunge Junction Railway Station, Dakshineswar railway station, Birati, Madhyamgram railway station, Sonarpur Junction railway station, Sodepur railway station, Kankinara railway station, Shantipur railway station, Barasat railway station, Kolkata railway station, Thakurnagar railway station, Majerhat railway station, Jadavpur railway station among others,” he added.
