Kolkata: BJP neta Suvendu Adhikari's counsel on Tuesday made a fresh prayer for an urgent hearing of his PIL petition over the chaos at Yuva Bharati Krirangan during Lionel Messi's GOAT tour. The prayer was moved before a division bench of acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul.
Pointing to the "chaos and public disorder" on that day in presence of political functionaries and ministers, Adhikari prayed for a court-monitored probe into the incident instead of the special investigating team (SIT) the state had set up for the probe.
The event, touted as a private initiative, was conducted with the "active involvement and facilitation" of the state using its agencies, he claimed.
