Min temp rises to 16.7°C, dip likely around Christmas eve

Kolkata: After staying below 16°C for the past two days, the minimum temperature rose to 16.7°C on Thursday. While the weather is expected to remain pleasant, the Met office sees no significant change in temperature in the next few days. The maximum is likely to hover between 26°C and 27°C, while the minimum is likely to stick around 16°C-17°C.
"We do not expect any remarkable change for now. However, there could be a further dip in mercury after Dec 24," said H R Biswas, head of Regional Meteorological Centre, Kolkata.
Thursday's minimum was 1.6°C above normal while the maximum temperature also climbed slightly on the Celsius scale from 25.3 degrees to 26 degrees.
The mercury dipped below 15°C twice this Dec, with 14.5°C on Dec 6 being the season's lowest. tnn
