Presi panel seeks admission feedback from departments

Kolkata: Presidency University's admission committee on Thursday discussed the modalities of undergraduate admission for the next academic session and sought feedback from departments. The committee said the final decision on whether the entrance tests for the 2026 session would be conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board or the university itself would be taken in the next meeting on Jan 7.
Teachers had recently written to the authorities, asking them to hold the meeting at the earliest to review the admission process and discuss the modalities for next year's admissions. "It was resolved in the Sept meeting that the critical issue would be addressed in the meeting in Nov, but unfortunately, the meeting was not scheduled. So the teachers sent a letter to prioritise the matter," said a source.
Earlier, PU teachers had said the university itself should conduct the admission tests to uphold the academic standards. They spoke about "grievances raised by stakeholders on the formulation of examination questions."
