  • Kolkata: Exactly a week after a 35-year-old man entered a central Kolkata residence and reportedly stabbed his 28-year-old "girlfriend" multiple times before he jumped from the fourth-floor balcony, cops are re-evaluating the exact chain of events that caused the death. Cops are now investigating if Rajendra Sharma alias Vicky, was a victim of a ‘homicide,' especially after Vicky's mother reportedly found a sharp cut mark on his stomach.

The incident occurred on Dec 16 in Posta. Vicky, a resident of Jagmohan Mullick Lane, was taken to a nearby hospital in a serious condition, where he was declared dead. Meanwhile, the woman, identified as Shikha Singh, is still admitted to the hospital.

On Dec 20, Vicky's mother, Santosh Sharma (73), approached cops stating she wanted to lodge a murder case against Shikha. "A case has been recorded at Posta PS against Shikha Singh and her associate(s). We have come to know that another woman was present at the spot. This woman worked with Shikha. We are investigating the role of both the women," said an officer.
