Kolkata: A 19-year-old MBBS aspirant from Agartala had alleged of being duped of Rs 21 lakh on the pretext of offering a guaranteed medical seat at the Calcutta National Medical College (CNMC) through a donor quota by men posing as officials. The aspirant has alleged paying these men inside Swasthya Bhawan, where he was allegedly shown an allotment letter, and at CNMC Hospital, where the accused took him to a restricted area by using the ‘official keys.'
The aspirant had claimed that he received a call from an individual, named Ayan, claiming to represent an education firm-based in Pune. Ayan, along Keshav Sinha, Vibhu Rastogi, Ashok Ghosh, and Jayanta Sen, allegedly orchestrated a scheme involving forged documents, issued in the name of West Bengal Medical Counseling Committee.. The victim lodged a complaint at Beniapukur PS.
