Kolkata: A BLO from N Dinajpur's Chopra, Bipin Toppo (45), died on Friday morning. While his family claimed SIR pressure, sources said he had high blood pressure and was under medication. A 37-year-old BLO, Amit Kumar Mondal of Katwa, went missing on Dec 23. However, the CEO said according to a police report, Mondal had taken a Rs 50 lakh bank loan to invest in stocks that had failed.
Meanwhile, three deaths have been reported amid the ongoing SIR process. All three died after receiving the hearing notice. Alam Khan, 65, of Chandrakona Block 2 in West Midnapore allegedly suffered from chest pain and died on Friday morning. In Birbhum, Malek Seikh, 63, died of heart attack on Thursday. Nimai Mal, 44, also died of a heart attack on Friday afternoon in Jitarpur village, Murshidabad.
