Burdwan: The general manager of a private company was killed and another general manager critically injured when the car they were travelling in rammed into the rear of a stationary truck at the Banskhopa toll plaza in Burdwan on Saturday. The driver died on the spot.
The deceased executive has been identified as Gautam Jana (50), a resident of Rajarhat. The injured general manager, Sandeep Chakraborty of Kalyani in Nadia district, is undergoing treatment in a hospital.
According to police, the car was travelling from Kalyani to a private hotel in Muchipara for a meeting when the accident occurred. Police from Kanksa police station and the traffic guard rushed to the spot to investigate the situation.
