Kolkata: Jio added 1.8 lakh new customers in the first 10 months of the year, reaching the 1-crore customer milestone, in Kolkata. Nationally, Jio surpassed 500 million (50 crore) users in Sept. This solidified its status as the world's largest mobile data network by traffic volume, according to company statement. It also stated that 5G services data consumption now accounts for around 50% of the total wireless data traffic.
The company claimed that Jio AirFiber, its 5G UBR-based fixed wireless access service, became the global leader by subscriber count in July, surpassing T-Mobile. "The total data traffic on the Jio network in 9 months (Jan–Sept 2025) was 162 exabytes, or 162 billion GB," it added. The average data consumed per user per month increased by 6.4 GB as well.
