Kolkata: Bidhannagar Police registered two separate FIRs on Thursday over alleged derogatory social media posts against CM Mamata Banerjee and BJP neta Dilip Ghosh and his wife, officials said.
In one case, Dilip Ghosh's wife Rinku approached the police, alleging that an unknown person had created a fake Facebook profile in the name of "Ananya Chaterje". She claimed the account posted and circulated derogatory statements about her and her husband, including comments on their personal life.
In the second case, one Apu Pramanick filed a complaint after coming across an alleged Facebook reel defaming the CM.
