Kolkata: The proposed skywalk at the Ruby crossing, the construction of which has been stuck for years, may finally see the light of the day this year.
Police commissioner Manoj Verma hinted that the RVNL might be approached to fund the project. "DC (traffic) Shrikant Jagannathrao Yeilwad requested KMDA to initiate the construction of the Ruby Skywalk. CP stated RVNL will bear the cost," state the minutes of the district road safety committee meeting, accessed by TOI.
According to the plan, an aerial pathway, about 18 ft above the ground below the Metro viaduct, with 5 entry-exit points, will be built. It will be linked to Hemanta Mukhopadhyay Metro station and passengers can use it to cross Bypass
