  • Kolkata: Eighty-four-year-old Adhikari family satrap, Sisir Adhikari's remark at a public meeting in Bhagabanpur on Friday where he sought an "apology with folded hands for leading people the wrong way", referring to Trinamool Congress, drew a sharp response from Trinamool."

TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, "Sisir Adhikari is a senior neta. He was an MP and then a junior Union minister. Now, due to some family compulsions — which we do not wish to elaborate on — he has made some comments referring to an apology. If he is sincere, why doesn't he stop, even return the pension he receives."

"He was an MP and junior Union minister because of the magnanimity of CM Mamata Banerjee. People never forgive drama," Ghosh added.
