‘Candid’ Dilip silent after slamming BJP colleagues

Kolkata: Former Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh has chosen to maintain silence following his press conference on Thursday, with party sources saying the top brass in Delhi has asked him to avoid making candid remarks for the time being.
Ghosh had recently criticised a section of BJP netas and questioned "mandir–masjid politics" in the wake of the party's defeat in Faizabad in the Lok Sabha polls. On Saturday, he campaigned from Kharagpur, his preferred constituency, visiting a local temple and offering prayers but refraining from speaking to the media.
On Sunday, Ghosh was seen on his routine morning walk, sharing tea with locals. "I am present at chitchats over tea every day. This is nothing new. The locals also started joining in. The change is perceptible," he said.
Meanwhile, Kharagpur MLA Hiraan Chattopadhyay said it would be unjust to remove him from the constituency to make way for Ghosh.
