Kolkata: A biker died on Tuesday around 9.20 am on the EM Bypass at Beleghata, close to Techno India Dama Hospital. The victim, Saptarshi Bakshi (45) was a resident of Mall Road in Dum Dum.
Cops said the bike was hit by a vehicle that has not been identified yet. The vehicle immediately fled the scene after the accident. Bakshi was declared dead at the Apollo Hospital a little after midnight.
In a separate accident, three cars collided with each other on Wednesday on Maa flyover. Traffic police decided yet again to approach the KMDA to request them to set up crash barriers to stop accidents on the Maa flyover, especially the Garia Ramp. The request followed multiple accidents on the busy flyover in the past four months, including the one on Wednesday.
