Kolkata: A 68-year-old man, Subrata Dutta Roy, was detained by police for sending governor CV Ananda Bose a "threat mail" that said "will blast you", reports Debashis Konar. Governor Bose received the mail on Thursday night.
Security was beefed up at Raj Bhavan following the email threat. The governor's security was reverified jointly by CRPF and Kolkata Police officers and a drill was carried out. The Union home ministry was immediately informed.
Around 10.30am on Friday, the governor went out for a walk along Dacres Lane without his guards. "He was confident that the people of Bengal will protect him," a Raj Bhavan official said.
