Suvendu stages sit-in protest after Garbeta ‘attack’

Kharagpur: Suvendu Adhikari, state leader of opposition and BJP MLA from Nandigram, staged a sit-in protest at Chandrakona Road police outpost in Garbeta after his car was allegedly attacked and his route blocked at Chandrakona Road market while he was returning from a public meeting in Purulia on Saturday evening.
BJP alleged that Trinamool activists attacked Adhikari's car with bamboo sticks and blocked the road for over an hour.
Adhikari claimed that around 8.30 pm, after crossing the Chandrakona Road intersection, a miscreant from the ruling party blocked his path. Sitting on the floor at the police outpost, Adhikari said his protest would continue until the culprits were arrested.
