Kolkata: The EC is going to appoint 2,000-plus micro-observers to verify enumeration forms and do fast hearings as the final roll will be published on Feb 14. Already, there are 4,600 micro-observers in the state. The EC will arrange for training of these micro-observers on Jan 15. They will help in data analysis.
The EC, an official said, has completed the hearing of 32 lakh "unmapped" voters.
Bengal CEO Manoj Agarwal said that they had already generated notices to 70 lakh voters and among them 34 lakh had been delivered.
He said that among the new applicants who had applied for inclusion in Form 6, those with linkage issues will be summoned soon. Already 3.1 lakh have applied through Form 6. He said the hearing pertaining to "logical mismatch" of 94.5 lakh voters will be completed soon. Among them, over 50.9 lakh had name mismatch of father. There are 28.2 lakh voters, who are 45-plus, but their names were missing from the 2002 list.
