Assault, threat plaints after South Kolkata road rage

Kolkata: Two cross-complaints were filed after a Jan 10 road rage incident on Kalighat Road–Sadar Ghat crossing. The incident involve occupants of a private car and a scooterette rider, identified as Vikas Prasad Gupta. The car was carrying one Prithwish Ganguly, his wife, another female and a male friend.
According to the first FIR lodged on the basis of a complaint submitted by Ganguly's wife, Gupta allegedly rode his scooterette in a negligent manner around 7 pm and struck their private car at the crossing. She alleged that the crash was followed by an altercation in which Gupta, threatened them , made lewd remarks and hit Ganguly with a roadside brickbat.During efforts to restrain him, the rider reportedly fell on the road and Ganguly took him to RKM Seva Prathistan, where Gupta and his wife, who came to the hospital, allegedly assaulted Ganguly and others. In a counter-complaint filed by Gupta's brother-in-law, it has been alleged that the car dashed into Gupta's two-wheeler. It alleged Gupta was assaulted by the car occupants using a brickbat. He was later shifted to Narayan Hospital in Behala with injuries on his right arm. He is admitted there. Probe is on.
