Kolkata: Two unidentified bike-borne snatchers allegedly robbed 64-year-old Shibani Banerjee of her gold chain on South Sinthee Road, close to the local market, on Wednesday morning, police said.
The woman, a resident of South Sinthee Road under Sinthee Police Station (PS), lodged a complaint on charges of theft by snatching.
The incident took place when she was shopping near a sweet shop around 11am. She alleged that the snatchers were not wearing helmets.
Cops have collected CCTV footage. They were also gathering information from local sources. CCTV footage from Baranagar was also being studied to identify the snatchers, police said. No injuries were reported. Probe into the matter is underway.
