Kolkata: Kolkata Police has chargesheeted Surajit Haldar alias Bapi and Tapas Pal under relevant sections for the murder of Ashok Paswan in the Chetla case.
Detectives from Lalbazar submitted an 85-page charge sheet in Alipore court on Friday, 83 days after the killing, naming 30 witnesses. Paswan, a resident of Chetla Road, was found critically injured on Oct 25 last year near the 17B bus stand. Local residents saw him running on the street in a bloodied condition with injuries to his face and neck. He was taken to hospital, where he died. His family filed a murder complaint the next day, after which the homicide branch took over the investigation. tnn
