Kolkata: Thieves decamped with Rs 23,000 from Samar Smriti Uchcha Vidyalaya (High School), a govt school in Siddharthanagar Colony in Baguiati, police said on Thursday. They also vandalised several rooms of the school as they broke in between 5.30 pm on Jan 13 and 10 am on Jan 14. Headmistress Lopamudra Lahiri lodged a written complaint at Baguiati Police Station on Thursday.
Police said the almirah in the headmistress's room and lockers in the teachers' room were found broken. No arrests have been made. Probe is on. tnn
