Kolkata: Chitpore police registered a case alleging criminal trespass, extortion and intimidation at a construction site on BT Road in north Kolkata after a developer complained that a group of men repeatedly entered the premises in intoxicated state, threatened workers and demanded a share of 10% of the project profits.
The developer alleged that his workers were even assaulted when the illegal demands were not met. According to the complaint, Vikas Mishra and his aides, identified as Shekhar Singh alias Gullu, and Anand Mohan Mishra alias Vicky, forced their way into the site office and construction area under Chitpore police station limits in ward number 3 on Jan 8.
The complainant alleged that construction materials and equipment went missing from the site. On Jan 12, the accused allegedly warned that construction materials would not be allowed into the site unless a "huge sum of money" was paid. tnn
