KOLKATA: A day after the West Bengal govt requested EC to reconsider its decision to get FIRs lodged against five officials for allegedly manipulating electoral rolls, the poll panel Saturday sent a third reminder to the district election officers of South 24-Parganas and East Midnapore to execue its directive.
In Aug 2025, EC had directed lodging of FIRs against the five officials, including the electoral registration officers and assistant electoral registration officers of Baruipur East and Moyna. Subsequently, they were suspended, and departmental proceedings were initiated against them.
